Ice cream is a summer staple in the Town of Georgina, enjoyed by residents and tourists alike. With many locations through the Town's communities and downtowns, you'll have lots to try to beat the heat all summer long. While you enjoy your cool treat, stroll through our parks and downtown areas to explore the many unique shops.  We've compiled a list of local favourites that serve up sweet, frozen treats.

EM Convenience 

Located in Jackson’s Point, EM Convenience offers more than the name alludes to. Stop in for a selection of more than 28 Kawartha Dairy flavours to fill your cup or cone. Looking for something different to cool off? Ask for a serving of Bastani. This Iranian ice cream is made with pistachios and saffron. The vibrant store is filled with an assortment of Middle Eastern delights as well as the typical drinks and snacks you’d find at any convenience store. Enjoy your ice cream at one of the outdoor tables, take a short walk to the Jackson’s Point Parkette or head to Bonnie Park to view the Jackson’s Point Harbor and Lighthouse.

Lake-View Grocery

Enjoy your ice cream while you take in a panoramic view of Lake Simcoe. Directly across from Willow Wharf Park, Lake-View Grocery serves up a variety of flavours of Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream as well as soft-serve options. A food cart out front offers a variety of different food options to pair with an assortment of snacks and refreshments.

Lake View Grocery Ice Cream Convenience


Nonna's Lakeside Italian Hot Table and Gelateria

Happy patrons can always be seen sitting at the tables outside Nonna's Lakeside Italian Hot table and Gelateria, which offers more than 50 flavours of homemade Gelato, and other homemade Italian baked dishes. Experience the rich Italian ice cream that offers fewer calories and less fat content per serving than regular ice cream but no less sweetness or goodness. Stop in for a scoop before exploring Jackson’s Point, or stay and enjoy the selection of pizzas, pasta and sandwiches.

Scoopy Doo's Ice Cream

Located in Uptown Keswick, Scoopy Doo’s Ice Cream serves up a wide variety of Kawartha Dairy ice cream flavours, even some lactose-free options, with a great variety of toppings and cones. If your children are attending one of the schools in central Keswick, they will certainly tell you about the treats available at this parlour. When you’re around the Keswick area, either checking out the local thrift shops, florists or other businesses, and you’re craving sweet frozen desserts, there’s no better place to go.

Dairy Queen

Aside from the classic burger and fries, Dairy Queen, located in the south end of Keswick, is a favourite of many, offering signature milkshakes, Blizzard soft serve ice cream and classic sweet and simple Dilly bars. A cozy spot for the whole family to sit in, or if you trust the heat not to melt your ice cream, take the five-minute drive to Claredon Beach Park to see the gorgeous view of Lake Simcoe’s Cooks Bay and let your little ones enjoy the playground.

Sibbald Point Provincial Park

Sibbald Point Provincial Park is a popular park, beach and campground located just east of Jackson's Point. Drive along scenic Hedge Road, and you won’t miss it. This park-operated one-stop shop for campers and beachgoers comes equipped with a snack bar with hot and cold treats, including ice cream and essentials you may have left at home. Once you grab your cold refreshments, you can sit at the tables among the trees anywhere in the park, explore the wooded areas or enjoy the Simcoe water at the long and shallow beach. Washrooms can be found nearby in the park and the beach.

Sibbald Point Park Store Ice Cream


Oh!Nest Cafe

When coming back north to Keswick along the Queensway South, keep an eye out for this cozy cafe. The best part is that on a hot day, you can look forward to ordering from the selection of ice cream supplied by Peterborough's Central Smith Creamery, which was established in 1896 and manufactures ice cream out of milk supplied by Canadian farmers. Of course, there are many other lunch and dessert options prepared by cooks who love what they do to give you energy for the rest of your day, especially if you plan to explore any of the nearby trails.

5 Corners General Store

Can't decide which way to go at the 5 corners intersection in Keswick? Why not stop in at 5 Corners General Store, a familiar stop that has recently come under new ownership with big plans. With plenty of room for parking and sitting at the picnic tables, this little store offers much, including the very thing you need on a sweltering day – a Kawartha ice cream dairy bar and Slush Puppy slushies. Once you've got your snacks, drive down to Claredon Beach Park to enjoy your cup or cone on the lake shore.

Little Bee Mart

Located in the heart of historic downtown Sutton, this convenience store has all the sweet treats you could want. If you're craving classic flavours such as chocolate or vanilla, or want to mix things up with moose tracks, this store's 11 different flavours have you covered. After you've grabbed your scoop, you can explore the charming downtown or enjoy your sweet treat by the river at Mill Pond Park.

This fast food chain has not one, but two locations in Georgina! At either location, grab yourself a soft serve cone or McFlurry to cool down. While you're there, you can pair your sweet treat with some savoury fries. At the Woodbine location, you can chill with your food while your little ones explore the indoor play place.
